Turn Your Disney Buttons into Magnet Souvenirs

Did you know you can get FREE buttons at Disneyland for all sorts of things? (If not check out this post about things you should know for your visit) Well, you can. Same with Walt Disney World. The kind of buttons you can get range from ones celebrating your 1st visit, to Happily Ever After, to special ones you are given if you do a character breakfast. Probably our pride and joy is that last visit we were made Honorary Citizens of Disneyland.

But what to do with all those buttons after you get home?

Why not make them into a cheap, personalized, souvenir from your trip. How does a Disney souvenir that costs less than a dollar sound? Sounds magical to me.

That is right, you can easily make your Disney buttons into a magnet souvenir.

I was at the craft store and found this pack of super strong, pretty large magnets for $1.99

So I got out my trusty glue gun and glued on some magnets.

And then I learned a tip. Put the magnet on really fast after you put the glue on (in other words- don't try and take a picture of the glue on the magnet). And then press down on the magnet/button really hard so you get a good even hold.

There you have it. Souvenirs that cost less than a dollar a piece and will remind you of that specific visit.
(I tried out my new fisheye lens. What do you think?)

TIP: If you don't want a permanent magnet on your button (We want to wear our citizens of Disneyland one every visit) you can still put a magnet to the back just don't glue it on.

Enjoy your new souvenirs!

  5. That's a perfect idea. To bad I didn't see this before I went to Disneyland so I could have bought more buttons. Just got back a few days age.

  9. Now that I'm thinking back, my mom used to do this with buttons when I was little. Never realized that most of the magnets on our fridge were originally magnets! Love this idea and will definitely be turning our Disney buttons into magnets for the fridge. Love it!
